[KPL] Karnataka Premier League 2016 season : The dates are out for the fan eagerly waiting for 5th edition of Karnataka Premier League 2016 (KPL) Which is going to kick of from September 16 at Mysuru and Hubli till October 1, 2016. While the Opening Ceremony of the KPL was Kept for July 29 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium as informed by Brijesh Patel Karnataka State Cricket Association Secretary.
The KPL was was all started in 2009 with the vision of the Late president KSCA Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar which is based on T20 Tournament. Which gives platform for the cream and the upcoming super stars of Karnataka cricket. The 2016 KPL tournament will have the 8 teams as same which are Bijapur Bulls, Belgavi Panthers, Bellary Tuskers, Hubli Tigers, Mangalore United, Mysuru Warriors, Namma Shivamogga and Rock Stars.
The introduction of KPL had helped many cricket players of the states who were under their platform and were seeking for the platform like this which is now developing as a Promising cricket tournament for state players. While the series have a good presence in its domestic geographical boundaries. While the series had also got rise from IPL Scouts players like KC Cariappa, Jagdeesha Suchith and Shivil Kaushik are sent from KPL to IPL. The league had been a role model for the order states too like Mumbai, Tamil and Bengal.
While there will be auction for the 2016 edition which is scheduled for August 10 Where there will be bidding system. While Brijesh Patel mentioned that they had started KPL for the motivation and encouragement for the rural and Mofuddil areas players which will give them experience like IPL in terms of clothing, balling and franchises and selective players will get chance for IPL.
He also said after starting the league in 2009 it grew very fast and they IPL franchises are keen to get new talents from here While there will be 2 phase of tournament the first phase from 16 September to 22 September at SDNR Wadiyar Stadium in Mysuru ad the second which will consist of semifinals and final starting from 24 September.
