Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the itinerary for the upcoming West Indies’ tour of the UAE, consisting of three Tests, three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Incidentally, both sides will take part in their inaugural day-night Test when the two nations meet in the first of the three Tests in Dubai.
West Indies will begin the tour with a practice match against England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) XI on September 20, before playing two T20Is on September 23 and 24 in Dubai. The third T20I will take place in Abu Dhabi on September 27.
The ODI series will begin on September 30, with Sharjah hosting the first two games while the third ODI will be played at Abu Dhabi. West Indies are also slated to play a day-night fixture against PCB Patrons XI in Sharjah in order to acclimatise to the conditions before the day-night Test starts on October 13.
Earlier this year, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) accepted the offer to play a day-night Test with a pink ball in the UAE after the PCB promised their counterpart that adequate training facilities and a warm-up match will be provided for the visiting side to prepare for the game. Pakistan are also set to play their second day-night Test against Australia in December this year in Brisbane.
The second Test is scheduled to commence on October 21 in Abu Dhabi, while the third and final game will be held in Sharjah from October 30.
